A filming schedule is used to show each member of production prior to going out and filming as it ensures the group on the agreed time which has been disused among all members of the group. It also gives the group a realistic target of how much we should film in a given time. It also gives each member of the group an idea of what props need to be brought. It shows who needs to be at the location of filming at what time. By doing all of this it enables our group to be organised and not confused as to who is doing what.
This was the filming schedule that our group had put together, whilst filming we used this as a rough guide to what scene needed to be filmed. The first four shots of our opening sequence we followed using the filming schedule. We examined what each location and iconography said and made sure we had the props ready for the shot. Although we followed the first four shots of the schedule, Nojus and I felt that to make our sequence look better there should be more shots of the planning room to make it seem more authentic. This didn't mean that we needed to change our whole filming she dual it just meant that the following shots were delayed until me and Nojus thought we had enough shots to make the opening as good as it could be.
Fortunately our filming schedule didn't hold any time slots which was a positive for me and Nojus as we were not rushed to get certain shots filmed straight away. The positive from this was that when we had planned to film at a certain time and the room me and Nojus were using was already engaged, we did not panic an fear that we were behind schedule. For me this is a good thing as it meant that we didn't have to rush our filming to make sure we didn't not fall. If we had tried to get all the shots over and done with quickly it could of ruined our sequence as the shots may look awful.
Shots that weren't included in our filming schedule that we had to add in were shots of the creep coming down the stairs in the 'basement'. We felt this created suspense, and made the opening look better as all you could see is a shadow coming down the stairs. As the face is unidentifiable it made the shot look more conventional to the thriller genre. From creating the filming schedule It has become apparent to me why they are used during filming and even if you don't stick to the schedule it is better to have one as it means that the production team has a guideline to follow.
